Riverside Campus: Building a future for 2,700 pupils
Riverside Campus is part of the Barking Riverside regeneration. It brings together three schools on one site – a primary, a secondary with sixth form, and a special educational needs (SEN) school. Eventually, it will be home to 2,700 pupils. They’ll benefit from bright classrooms, specialist teaching spaces, a sports hall, floodlit games areas and an all-weather pitch.

Faster, smarter construction
The campus was built using prefabricated modules – the largest off-site education project in the UK. While groundworks took place, the steel-framed modules were fitted out with electrics, plumbing and heating in the factory.
When delivered, they were craned into position, ready for finishing on site. This approach cut both the build time and the fit-out period.
Guiding the project from lease to handover
We provided cost management, project management and advisory services.
We guided our clients through complex lease negotiations between the landowner, local authority and school trust. We made sure the essentials – land remediation, service connections and access roads – were delivered so the build could go ahead.
We stayed involved until handover and monitored quality during the 12-month defects period.
A new home for learning
The schools opened with 600 pupils and continue to grow each year. Off-site construction saved time and money. And thousands of young people now have a modern, purpose-built place to learn.
