Giving independence to elderly residents

This is the third project in the Hong Kong Housing Society’s Senior Citizen Residences Scheme. The 29-storey building includes 24 floors with 13 flats on each, a sky garden, clubhouse, and residential care home for the elderly

The aim? Helping elderly residents live comfortably in their own homes. It offers housing, recreation, medical, and care services, all in one place.

Supporting every stage of the project

We worked on the project from the start. First, we provided the pre-contract estimate. Then, we managed tender documentation, post-contract supervision, and final accounts. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic causing uncertainty, we kept costs under control.

Designing for the elderly

Every aspect of Blissful Place was crafted to serve the elderly. The development includes:

  • Comfortable interiors
  • Easy access to facilities and services
  • Common areas with amenities to create a self-sustaining living space

The building also has a residential care home and rehabilitation services. These provide full support to residents, helping them live an active and independent lifestyle.

An added feature is the Integrated Care Link System, a gerontechnology tool. Tenants can get emergency help with a simple press of a portable device.

Recognition for the Blissful Place development

This development won the Green Building Award 2023 Merit Award and a Special Citation for its contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The award is organized by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC). It honours projects and organizations that make a strong impact on creating a more sustainable built environment.

Jill Kennedy, Director in Hong Kong, shared her thoughts: "We are proud to have supported HKHS with Quantity surveying services throughout the project. It’s great to be part of a development that benefits the community by meeting the needs of the elderly under one roof."
