What changed?

The hotel got a full refresh across two buildings with 420 rooms. Highlights include:

  • Modern, high-quality room finishes
  • Better lighting and sound insulation
  • Smart-room tech for convenience
  • Updated bathrooms and climate control for comfort
  • Renovated kitchens, dining areas, lift lobbies, foyers, meeting rooms, and guest toilets

All designed to give guests a fun, comfortable stay with a trendy social atmosphere.

Our role

Weprovided project management, construction management, and quantity surveying services.

We kept the project moving smoothly from inception to completion.

How we added value

  • Strong cost planning kept the project within budget.
  • We spotted smart value engineering ideas on site, optimizing materials and methods without cutting quality.
  • We combined cost consulting, project management, and contract administration for seamless delivery.

Innovation at work

  • Introduced real-time cost tracking and custom dashboards to help the team make fast, informed decisions.
  • Led early value engineering workshops to save money and fine-tune the project scope without sacrificing quality.

Overcoming challenges

This was a big project with some tricky parts:

  • Rising costs for materials and skilled labour
  • Keeping the hotel open and guests happy while major work was underway
  • Complex phasing to manage renovations without disrupting business

Through careful planning and close coordination, we delivered the project efficiently and to top standards.

An award-winning leisure experience

M Social Patong was recently named a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award Winner for 2025, recognising the high-quality experience on offer to guests.

PJey Mayandi, General Manager M Social Patong said: “Following the successful refurbishment and handover of our hotel, we are delighted to have worked with Currie & Brown, whose expertise and dedication have been instrumental in delivering this outstanding transformation. We can now look forward to welcoming guests to a refreshed and exceptional property that reflects the highest standards of quality and service.”

“The transformation of the Millennium hotel into the M Social brand was about more than just upgrading a building. It was about redefining the guest experience. Our team worked closely with the client and project partners to deliver real value through rigorous cost control, flexible phasing strategies, and a deep understanding of brand-led design. By combining innovation with collaboration, we helped bring the M Social vision to life.” Scott Bracey, Project Director, Currie & Brown added.
